Common Problems

Mushrooms/toadstools occur with over watering. Water every other day for 15 minutes a station in the morning. Noontime watering will leave water spots on the blades and that will burn your grass.

Never apply applications in July, except for Humma Green.

When applying weed killer you need to make sure that there is no rain or water to that area for 24 hours and it needs to be over 60 degrees. Weed killer is heat activated and will kill weeds but not grass.

Grubs are very common in Kuna. If you look in your yard and you have brown spots and they begin to grow larger -- you have grubs!

If you need to get rid of bees, hornets, mosquitoes, flies, etc. read the label and look for the word Methrine. It will kill them.

If your soil is hard, spread Gypsum on your lawn. This can be done by using a hand held spreader and then water it in. It will mix with your soil and lower your PH level.

**Always look to see where a product is made. If it is made in Nampa, it will work for our area. If the product is made in Illinois, it won’t work. So check labels.

If you have any questions about your lawn you can contact Shawn Lough at Zamzows and he will actually come out to your yard and tell you what you need to do to get the results you want.
